My Insurance Company is going to send out an Adjuster for me, right? Why do I need to hire a Public Adjuster?
The answer is no, your Insurance Company is not going to send out an Adjuster for you. They will however, send out an adjuster for them, to protect their interests. Shouldn’t you do the same?
The Insurance Company Adjuster will be happy to tell you what you have lost and how much it costs if you are not willing to do it yourself. This could be one of the costliest mistakes policy holders make. Let’s clarify the three types of adjusters and who they represent; first, there is the Staff Adjuster, who works directly for your Insurance Company. Second, there is the I.A. Independent Adjuster; he is hired by your Insurance Company to represent their interests. Third, there is the Public Adjuster, hired by you, the Policy Holder to represent your interests. The Public Adjuster is the only Adjuster who is representing your interests in the insurance claim.
The answer to the second part of the question is simple; you need to hire a Public Adjuster like Samson & Associates, Ltd. because we are the only ones in the Insurance claims process who is truly looking out for your interests.
When should we hire Samson & Associates, Ltd. as our Public Adjuster?
You have the right to hire us as your Public Adjuster at any time during the insurance claims process, anytime; do not let anyone tell you differently. However, we do encourage you to call us as soon as possible; one of the biggest misconceptions is that a Public Adjuster will slow down the claims process. When in fact, the exact opposite is true and the numbers are on our side, you can go round and round with the Insurance carrier for months, get frustrated, not get the proper settlement, then call Samson & Associates, Ltd. and in most cases we will have your claim properly documented and ready for presentation to the Insurance Company in about one week (depending on claim size). If we were called out right when the insurance loss occurred, we most likely would have had the loss settled for the proper amounts by this time.
If we are hired before the Adjuster representing the Insurance Company comes out to do his inspection, it gives us the opportunity to present the loss to the Carrier in a way that allows us to “Paint the Picture” of the loss, before he has an opportunity to make an erroneous judgment call on the dollar amount.
Why do I need Samson & Associates, Ltd. as my Public Adjuster? Can’t I just hire a qualified licensed contractor to assist me for free?
The answer to the first part is the same reason you hire your local tax consultant (for income taxes), Realtor (to sell your home) or Attorney (pick a topic), you must have a qualified licensed professional who is familiar with the market specific conditions and the rules of engagement when it comes to the task at hand.
The answer to the second part is simply NO. In most every State only a Licensed Public Adjuster (or Attorney) can engage in the business of settling insurance claims on behalf of the Policy Holder for compensation. Contractors can do the work, but they are specifically excluded from negotiating Insurance Claims by Law. Never mind the fact that the adjuster does not have to speak or negotiate with a contractor no matter how qualified. The same is not true for Licensed Public Adjusters; the adjuster from the Insurance Company must negotiate the claim in good faith with you and your Public Adjuster.
